The Dunkermotoren RE30 incremental encoder series provides contact-free quadrature position feedback for the GR 30, GR 30S, GR 42, GR 53, GR 63, GR 80, BG 32 dCore, BG 32 KI, BG 42 dCore, BG 45, BG 62 dCore, BG 65, BG 66, BG 75, and BG 95 dPro motor series — the widest motor compatibility of any encoder in the Dunkermotoren range.

The standard RE30 delivers 100 or 500 ppr via an A/B/I interface and is rated from −40°C to +100°C, making it suitable for demanding ambient conditions. Where cable runs exceed 2.5 m between encoder and control, the RE30 TI adds an integrated line driver with complementary outputs (/A, /B, /I) to reject electrical noise, and extends resolution to 1,024 ppr across its three configurations. Both variants mount open at IP 30, with a protective hood at IP 54, or integrated into the BG 65 motor profile housing at IP 65.

The RE30 series is well suited to industrial automation, conveyor and material handling systems, medical and laboratory equipment, and pump or valve drives. The index pulse makes both variants particularly effective in applications requiring repeatable homing — automated assembly, CNC axes, and multi-axis positioning systems where an external homing switch would add complexity and cost. The RE30 TI is the preferred choice where long wiring runs between the motor and control cabinet are the norm, or where electrical noise is a concern.

As part of the broader Dunkermotoren motion system, the RE30 series pairs with GR-series planetary gearboxes for torque multiplication and with Dunkermotoren electromagnetic brakes for controlled stopping and position holding.

Features
  • Contact-free magnetic sensing with no brushes or wear surfaces keeps feedback reliable across continuous-duty motor applications in the RE30 and RE30 TI
  • The RE30 TI line driver transmits complementary signals (/A, /B, /I) that actively reject electrical noise on cable runs beyond 2.5 m, where standard encoder outputs become unreliable
  • Resolution of 100 or 500 ppr on the RE30, and up to 1,024 ppr on the RE30 TI, lets the axis be matched to the controller without over-specifying either
  • Index pulse on both variants provides a once-per-revolution zero reference for repeatable homing without an external switch
  • Three IP protection levels — IP 30 open-mounted, IP 54 with protective hood, IP 65 integrated in the BG 65 profile housing — suit clean and demanding installations with one encoder series
  • Broader motor compatibility than any other encoder in the Dunkermotoren range simplifies spares holding and standardisation across mixed motor fleets

FAQs
The RE30 family covers five configurations: standard RE30 in A/B or A/B/I interface, and RE30 TI in a standard driver version, a 24Vdc/1,024 ppr version, or a 5Vdc/1,024 ppr A/B version. Choose by interface need (A/B vs index pulse), cable run length (TI for over 2.5m), supply voltage available, and required resolution.
The RE30 TI adds an integrated line driver with complementary outputs (/A, /B, /I), giving much faster rise and fall times (20ns vs 180-200ns) and higher output current (20mA vs 5mA). This makes it the right choice for cable runs beyond 2.5m or electrically noisy installations, at the cost of a narrower operating temperature range on the standard TI version.
The standard RE30 (both A/B and A/B/I) is rated −40°C to +100°C. The standard RE30 TI is rated 0°C to +70°C. The 24Vdc RE30 TI variant is rated −25°C to +85°C, and the 5Vdc/1,024 ppr RE30 TI variant is rated −20°C to +85°C. Confirm the correct variant for your ambient temperature before ordering.
Yes. The RE30 TI is available in a 24Vdc version providing 1,024 ppr (4,096 cpr) with an A/B/I interface, rated −25°C to +85°C. This sits alongside the standard 5Vdc RE30 TI models.
The RE30 has the widest motor compatibility of any encoder in the Dunkermotoren range, covering the GR30, GR30S, GR42, GR53, GR63, GR80, BG32 dCore, BG32 KI, BG42 dCore, BG45, BG62 dCore, BG65, BG66, BG75 and BG95 dPro motor series.
All RE30 and RE30 TI variants are IP30 as supplied (open mount). Protection rises to IP54 with a protective hood, or IP65 when the encoder is integrated in the BG motor profile housing.
The standard RE30 and RE30 TI offer 100 or 500 ppr (400 or 2,000 cpr). Two RE30 TI variants step up to 1,024 ppr (4,096 cpr) — one at 24Vdc, one at 5Vdc with an A/B interface — for applications needing finer position resolution.
Typical applications include robotics, conveyor and material handling systems, pump and valve control, and general industrial motion control. With five configurations available, contact sales@powerbox.com.au to confirm the right RE30 variant for your voltage, cable run and resolution requirements.
