When Off-the-Shelf Doesn't Quite Fit

There's a wide range of manufactured rack-mounted power conversion products on the market — but they're not always the right fit. Off-the-shelf units are often overpowered against your actual demand, aren't always available in more bespoke voltages like 15V or 36V DC, and dual-output configurations (say, 12V and 24V from one product) aren't always available either. Rack-mounted power conversion is also frequently installed into half or full cabinets alongside a battery bank and DC distribution — additional scope that can sit with us as part of the same build, reducing the number of suppliers you deal with.

Built to a Consistent, Field-Proven Standard

Built to a Consistent, Field-Proven Standard

IEC AC connection via the rear panel, single or independent dual AC feeds

Pluggable Phoenix connectors for DC, or high-current Anderson connectors for battery connection

DC distribution via MCBs or DIN-rail mounted breakers

Front panel LED indication for DC OK and other alarm or fault states

Dual redundancy using internal diodes

Battery racking or shelving for GEL or Sealed Lead Acid batteries, or rack-mounted LiFePO4

Whatever Voltage or Redundancy Level Your Project Needs

Whatever Voltage or Redundancy Level Your Project Needs

Single-voltage or multi-voltage, standard or dual redundant, right through to full battery backup / DC-UPS configurations — including bespoke outputs like 15V or 36V DC, or dual-output builds such as 12V and 24V from a single cabinet, which aren't always available as a standard product.

GA and SLD Drawings on Completion

GA and SLD Drawings on Completion

General Arrangement (GA) and Single Line Diagram (SLD) drawings can be provided for the assembled solution on request — commonly requested by utility and telecommunications customers, particularly for cabinets with battery backup and distribution. If you need a formalised specification sheet for the finished solution, we can produce that too.

Fully Assembled, Pre-Wired and Tested Before It Ships

Fully Assembled, Pre-Wired and Tested Before It Ships

Every cabinet is completed with full electro-mechanical assembly and electrical pre-wire, and is functionally and load-tested before it leaves us — so what arrives on site is ready to commission, not a kit of parts.

Who This Is For

Rack Mounted & Cabinetised solutions are used across government agencies, utilities, internet service providers, and security and access control integrators — anywhere a DC bus needs to stay powered from a rack or cabinet, not a standalone unit.

Government & Utilities

Government & Utilities

Rack-mounted DC power for critical infrastructure sites, where documented, redundant and field-proven systems are a baseline requirement, not a nice-to-have.

Telecommunications & ISPs

Telecommunications & ISPs

DC distribution and battery backup for exchange cabinets and network nodes, sized to keep a site up through a mains outage, not just running under normal conditions.

Security & Access Control

Security & Access Control

Rack-mounted power for access control panels, alarm systems and monitoring equipment, where an unplanned power drop is a genuine security risk, not just an inconvenience.

Solar Farms & Renewables

Solar Farms & Renewables

DC distribution and monitoring cabinets for solar farm sites, built to handle the redundancy and documentation requirements utility-scale projects typically call for.

What Goes Into a Rack Mounted & Cabinetised Solution?

Most of what goes into a Rack Mounted & Cabinetised build is selected or sourced to match your voltage, redundancy and documentation requirements — not a fixed catalogue item.

Rack-Mount Cabinets

Rack-Mount Cabinets

Half or full-sized cabinets housing the power conversion, distribution and battery backup for your project, built to your voltage and redundancy requirements.

DC Distribution

DC Distribution

MCB or DIN-rail mounted breaker distribution, wired and tested as part of the assembled cabinet, protecting downstream loads and simplifying fault isolation.

Battery Chargers / DC-UPS

Battery Chargers / DC-UPS

Single-voltage, multi-voltage, standard or dual redundant configurations, through to full DC-UPS systems with battery backup, selected to the cabinet's voltage and load profile.

Rack-Mount Batteries

Rack-Mount Batteries

GEL or Sealed Lead Acid batteries on dedicated racking or shelving, or rack-mounted LiFePO4 where a lighter, higher cycle-life option is preferred.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions specific to Rack Mounted & Cabinetised solutions. For general value-added questions, see the Value-Added Solutions overview.

Yes. Bespoke voltages and dual-output configurations (such as 12V and 24V from a single cabinet) that aren't always available as standard products are a common part of what we build.

They're available on request, and are commonly requested by utility and telecommunications customers, particularly on cabinets with battery backup and distribution. A formalised specification sheet can also be produced if needed.

Yes, battery racking or shelving for GEL, Sealed Lead Acid or rack-mounted LiFePO4 batteries, along with MCB or DIN-rail DC distribution, can all be built into the same assembly.

Typically 2–3 weeks, with every cabinet fully assembled, pre-wired and functionally and load-tested before it ships.
