Victron Blue Smart IP67 Waterproof Battery Charger

The Victron Blue Smart IP67 Charger is a fully encapsulated, waterproof battery charger for 12V and 24V lead-acid and Li-ion batteries. The series covers seven models from 5A to 25A charge current, each available with a 230Vac or 120Vac input.

The cast aluminium enclosure is rated IP67 and the electronics are moulded in resin, so water, oil and dirt will not damage the charger. It is also shockproof and ignition protected, which suits installations on vehicles and in exposed locations.

A microprocessor-controlled 5-stage adaptive algorithm (bulk, absorption, recondition, float and storage) adjusts the charging process to how the battery is actually used. Normal, High and Li-ion settings match the charge voltages to the battery, and a LOW mode reduces charge current on every model. Built-in Bluetooth lets you monitor voltage and current, change settings and update the charger wirelessly.

For batteries that sit idle, storage mode lowers the float voltage after 24 hours without discharge and raises it to absorption level once a week, reducing gassing, plate corrosion, electrolyte stratification and sulphation. The charger will also start on a battery discharged to zero volts and reconnect to a Li-ion battery that has opened its internal disconnect.

Efficiency of 93% to 96% means less wasted heat, and no-load power consumption is 0.5W. In hot locations such as machine rooms, the Victron Blue Smart IP67 delivers full rated output up to 40°C, then reduces output current as temperature rises to 60°C instead of failing. Every model is protected against battery reverse polarity, output short circuit and over-temperature, and can also run as a DC power supply.
