What Is a Value-Added Solution?

Selecting the right power converter, inverter or battery charger is often only the starting point. Product designers and engineering teams then have to work out how it will be installed, housed, and wired into the finished product — and in many projects, the power supply is only a small part of the overall assembly, with fusing, terminal blocks and other components still to be sourced, installed and wired in.

A value-added solution is the process of taking a standard power conversion device and building around it. That can be as simple as installing a converter into an IP-rated enclosure, or as involved as a fully pre-wired electro-mechanical sub-assembly with multiple converters, fans, diodes and breakers. At the far end of the scale, it can mean a custom-designed enclosure, a custom PCB, and a microcontroller for control or alarm states.

How It Works

1. Tell Us What You Need

Converter type, input/output voltages and load currents, physical space envelope, cooling and mounting style, and any connectors, alarms or indication required.

2. Proposal & Design

We come back with a proposal covering the technical approach, engineering design time, and pricing for sample, pre-production and production quantities.

3. Prototype & Sample

A first-off sample is built for your review and sign-off before production begins — with no minimum order quantity, from single units upward.

4. Production & Testing

Every assembly is functionally and load-tested before shipping. Typical timeframes range from 1-2 weeks for a repeat Solar Box build through to 3-6 months for a fully custom solution.

5. Delivery & Ongoing Support

We can scale production to match demand and hold buffer stock on repeat-configuration builds, so you're not exposed to lead time changes on components you rely on.

No. We take on single-unit projects across all solution types, right through to production runs of several hundred units a year.
Yes, every assembled system is functionally and load-tested before it leaves us. Enclosures themselves aren't IP-rating tested, but we rely on the UL and EN approvals of the power supplies and electrical components used, and every assembly is completed by a qualified electrical engineer.
Yes, on repeat-configuration builds we can hold buffer stock to protect your production schedule, and can scale production up as your volumes grow.
Electrical pre-wire, installation and components carry a 1-year warranty. Power supplies, DC-DC converters and solar chargers used within the solution carry the warranty offered by their manufacturer, which we match.
Any product or design change is discussed and costed with you first. Where a component swap is needed, we typically build a sample for your evaluation and sign-off before rolling the change into production.
