The Dunkermotoren RE22 series offers two compact magnetic incremental encoders designed to mount directly to Dunkermotoren BG and GR brushless DC motors, adding quadrature position feedback to motor platforms that would otherwise run open-loop. Both variants operate contact-free with no wear and share the same A/B interface and operating temperature range of −20°C to +85°C — the choice between them comes down to resolution requirement and cable run length.

The base RE22 delivers 256 pulses per channel (1,024 counts per revolution), drawing just 18 mA — well suited to short cable runs in space-constrained installations where current budget matters. The RE22 TI adds an integrated line driver with higher output current capacity, stepping up to 360 ppr (1,440 cpr) for applications that need finer resolution or must reliably transmit signals over cable runs longer than 2.5 m between encoder and controller.

Both variants are compatible with the GR 30, GR 30S, BGA 22 dCore, BG 32 dCore, BG 32 KI and BG 42 dCore motor series, and can be mounted open to the motor body at IP 30 or with a protective hood for applications requiring IP54 or higher. The mating connector 27573.40235 is available with a 500 mm pre-wired strand.

Typical applications include conveyor and material handling systems, pump and valve actuators, and general-purpose motion control where closed-loop speed or position feedback is required.

The RE22 series pairs with the full Dunkermotoren motion system — combine with a GR-series planetary gearbox for torque multiplication, or add a Dunkermotoren electromagnetic brake for controlled stopping and position holding.
